Cedric Brun, Research Engineer at Obeo, project lead of the EMF compare project and Acceleo's evangelist, he works in his daily job on software evolution, re-engineering and cartography of legacy systems through model driven processes. His work at Obeo involves consultancy and expertise in setting up a pragmatic and efficient development process based on UML or domain specific models for software providers or administrations. He has graduated both the Polytech' engineering school and a research Master at the University of Nantes and specialized himself in software engineering and model driven engineering. Frank Appel is the technical lead on the Eclipse Rich Ajax Platform (RAP) project. At Innoopract , a recognized leader in Eclipse distribution and web application development, Frank led the team that developed the W4Toolkit, the base code donation for the RAP project. Frank was also responsible for developing W4T Eclipse, a visual web application development tool for the W4Toolkit. Boris Bokowski is a Software Developer with IBM Rational in Ottawa, Canada and a full-time Eclipse committer working on the Platform UI team and the new e4 project. John Cunningham
John Cunningham, President of Band XI International has two decades of experience engineering software solutions in a broad range of industries. Having begun his career in New York City as a consultant at Accenture (formerly Andersen Consulting) and Computer Sciences Corporation, he moved on to a line management position at Citigroup (formerly Travelers Insurance). In the mid 1990’s, he joined Object Technology International, a small expert software development firm that was acquired by IBM. For over a decade, Mr. Cunningham served in both technical and business project leadership roles within IBM. Christof Hammel, born in Schw.Gmünd, Germany, on Nov 25, 1968, received the M.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from Universität Stuttgart. From 1990 to 1995, he worked for ARADEX GmbH, developing hardware and software solutions for electrical drivetrain and controller systems. In 1995, he joined Robert Bosch GmbH, system development for Common Rail diesel injections systems. In 2000, he spent one year in the development of car multimedia systems. He is an elected member of the Eclipse Foundation Board of Directors and has been recognized by the Eclipse Community Awards as Top Ambassador and Top Committer. Philippe Mulet
Philippe Mulet leads the Eclipse project and the Java Development Tooling (JDT) Eclipse subproject; working at IBM since 1996; he is currently located in Saint-Nazaire (France). In late 1990s, Philippe was in charge of the compiler and code assist tools in IBM Java Integrated Development Environments (IDEs): VisualAge for Java Standard and Micro editions. Philippe became responsible for the infrastructure of the Java tools for Eclipse (2000), then the entire Java tools subproject (2005), and more recently for the overall Eclipse project (2007). Philippe has also been a member of the expert group on compiler API (JSR199), representing IBM. His main interests are in compilation, performance, scalability and meta-level architectures.

Igor Novakovic
Igor Novakovic is Deputy Director Development at empolis GmbH. After joining empolis in 2000, he was at first responsible for the development of some server-side components written in C + + and Java. Kaloyan is employed by SAP Labs Bulgaria. There he works in the SAP NetWeaver division towards aligning the Java EE toolset of the SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio with the Eclipse WTP project.

Dave Russo is a Distinguished Member of Technical Staff at TI, and currently serves as the Target Content Infrastructure CTO within TIs Software Development Organization. Before joining TI, Dave was co-founder of Spectron Microsystems, where he helped create the first real-time operating system for DSP (SPOX/C3x) in 1988 and DSP/BIOS in 1997. After TI acquired Spectron, Dave guided evolution and diffusion of DSP/BIOS for use on TI architectures. He is the original author of eXpressDSP Algorithm Standard (xDAIS), recently served as lead architect and developer of TIs Codec Engine multi-media framework for advanced SOCs, and is co-creator of the Real-Time Software Component model and its associated tools. Dave has a Bachelors degree in Mathematics from MIT and a PhD from University of California, Santa Barbara.
Jan S. Rellermeyer
Jan S. Rellermeyer received his MSc CS in Distributed Systems from ETH Zürich, Switzerland, in 2006. Currently, Jan is doing a PhD in the Systems Group at ETH, which is lead by Prof. Gustavo Alonso, Prof. Donald Kossmann, Prof. Timothy Roscoe, and Prof. Nesime Tatbul. Jan is the author of the Concierge Framework, an OSGi technology implementation, the Java SLP implementation jSLP, and of R-OSGi, a transparent solution for remote OSGi services. He is additionally working with the Eclipse ECF team on the transparent remote service integration into the Eclipse platform. His research interests are distributed systems, middleware, databases, operating systems, mobile and embedded devices, and software architecture. Since January, Jan is the second invited researcher of the OSGi Alliance.

Doug Schaefer
Doug Schaefer is the Eclipse CDT (C/C++ Development Tools) project lead and has been contributing to the CDT since it's inception in 2002. Doug is also an engineering manager at Wind River where his team works on install and licensing technology for Wind River's products. In that role, he is becoming a p2 expert as well. Doug is also leading the Eclipse e4 Resource project which is working on updates to the Eclipse resources system for the Eclipse 4.0.
Michael Scharf
Michael is one of the architects of the Wind River Workbench, CDT based IDE for embedded development. He works for WindRiver since 1994. Earlier in his career, he worked for 9 years in the area of computational molecular biology using object oriented technology for analysis and visualization of complex data. He is working with eclipse since 2001.
Tom is self-employed and CEO of BestSolution.at Systemhaus Gmbh a software company building applications (RCP, J2EE) for companies around the world. Besides implementing solutions their own BestSolution.at consulted companies to introduce Eclipse Technologies into their software stack by providing its knowledge about Eclipse Technologies and Software Design experience.
Tom is one of the Platform-UI and Nebula committers working on JFace-Viewers, Nebula-Grid and contributed patches to other eclipse projects (EMF, ...). He is the founder of the UFacekit-Project which builds a layer of abstraction above Eclipse-Databinding.
He is a regular contributor to the eclipse newsgroups and received the top contributor award in 2007 for his work on JFace-Viewers.
Tom is part of the E4 project team and has written the EMF based platform prototype used as the starting point for the implementation of the next generation of the Eclipse-Platform.
Alexander Schleif is member of the “Methods, Architectures & Tools” team of Deutsche Bausparkasse Badenia AG. The finance company is Germany’s fourth largest, private building and loan association. There he has been working in various Java projects since 2000.
Christoph Schlumpf is a senior systems architect at AXA Winterthur. He studied at ETH Zürich and holds degrees in both Environmental Science and Computer Science. Since joining the company in 1999 he has been working on product definition systems.

David Sciamma

Heiko Seeberger

Sun Seng David TAN
Sun Seng is a java developer of the ECM open source vendor, Nuxeo since 2007. He is one of the main developers of Apogee Project (Nuxeo RCP). Holder of an Engineer Diploma in IT and networking, Sun is an Eclipse RCP developer since 2006. In Australia (Economic Outlook, Adelaide), he contributed on Spike 3 project (management of bookings and calculation of child care benefit (CCB) based on Eclipse RCP and Glassfish). He is also involved in several projects around Nuxeo EP (Office Software integrated component : LiveEdit. Web scripting on top of nuxeo platform : WebEngine).
Steve Sfartz
Steve Sfartz has been working in Object and Services Oriented Architecture for 15 years, starting in the C++ and NeXT industry in 1994, early Java adopter in 1996, with a focus on the .Net/Microsoft platform since 2005. Steve currently works for Microsoft France as a Technology Evangelist with expertise in Enterprise Architecture, Interoperability, SOA & Cloud Computing. Adrian Skehill
Adrian Skehill is the Founder and Managing Director of Calom Technologies, a company developing software to power the next generation of Set Top Boxes. Prior to founding Calom, Adrian held a number of development roles with IONA Technologies for 10 years. The later part of this time was spent leading the user interface team in building eclipse plugins to support IONA's products. He also played a key role in the eclipse STP project, leading the service creation project and was part of the team that got the STP onto the main eclipse release train. Adrian has now become a committer on the Buckminster project and is helping the project develop out its build and test systems.
Reginald Stadlbauer was born in Graz, Austria. After working as Senior Software Architect at Trolltech AS (today Nokia Qt Software) he co-founded froglogic in Hamburg, Germany. froglogic specializes on cross-platform, automated GUI testing with the flagship product Squish. Reginald works as CEO at froglogic and is resposible for the technical and business aspects of the automated GUI testing tool Squish.
Eike Stepper
Dave Thomas has a wide spectrum of experience in the software industry as an engineer, consultant, architect, executive, and investor. He is the Founder and Chairman of Bedarra Research Labs, a company specializing in emerging software technologies and applications. He is also the Managing Director of Object Mentor, a company specializing in the training and deployment of Agile and Object-Oriented Software Development methodologies. He is best known as the founder and past CEO of Object Technology International Inc. (formerly OTI, now IBM OTI Labs) where he led the commercial introduction of object and component technology. Dave is widely published in software engineering literature and remains active in various roles within the technical community including ECOOP, AOSD, JAOO, Agile Development Conference, OOPSLA Onward, ENASE, and Dynamic Language Symposium. He is an adjunct research professor at Carleton University and the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) as well as a founding director of the Agile Alliance, an ACM Distinguished Engineer, President of AITO, and an advisor for IEEE Software. He also writes an expert column in the Journal of Object Technology.
Jan Trnka
Jan Trnka, founder and CEO of STABILIT Informatik AG. From 1980 to 1986 Jan worked as project leader and software engineer for a logistics company in Switzerland. Form 1986 to 1992 he worked as a consultant for transaction processing at Digital Equipment Corporation and later, Compaq. Since 1992 he has worked as an IT-consultant and software engineer for many customers in the financial industry. For almost 15 years Jan has been substantially involved in the development of electronic trading systems at Swiss Exchange in Zürich. He is co-architect of the Repo trading platform established in 1998, owned and operated by EUREX.
Paul VanderLei

Mr. VanderLei has more than 20 years of software engineering experience using a variety of technologies applied to many domains. He is well known in the Eclipse community for his innovative, yet straightforward, engineering solutions to complex problems. He coauthors an upcoming book on the proper construction of embedded Java applications using the OSGi software architecture. Mr. VanderLei has more than 10 years of experience developing embedded Java applications and user interfaces for the automotive and medical industry as a founding member of the IBM Embedded Java Enablement Team. Before joining Band XI International, he had been providing enablement services for the Rational Team Concert (Jazz) product lines as a Senior Software Architect for IBM Rational Systems.
Darko Varju
Darko Varju studies Computer Science at the University of Applied Sciences in Karlsruhe. He works for Innoopract where he is involved in the development of the Yoxos-on-Demand and several Single Sourcing projects. His thesis covered an implementation and enablement of the EPP UDC for RAP environments.
Gunnar Wagenknecht
Gunnar is a software engineer who loves server and application architectures especially those involving Equinox/OSGi. In his primary role at AGETO he is thrilled to work on open source software, emerging platforms and technologies and to help companies understand Eclipse and OSGi and execute on their business objectives in an open source context. He is a very active member of the Eclipse Community and a prolific contributor with many years of experience on numerous Eclipse projects; Gunnar is also a member of the Technology PMC which he represents on the Eclipse Architecture Council. Apart from Eclipse he also loves chatting about fishing, diving and family over a good beer or a glass of dry, barrel aged red wine.
Jason Weathersby is the BIRT Evangelist at Actuate Corporation and a member of the Eclipse Business Intelligence and Reporting Tools (BIRT) Project Management Committee (PMC). Jason has over 15 years experience in the software development field, ranging from real time process control to business intelligence software. At Actuate, Jason is currently responsible for educating the Open Source community on BIRT and encouraging its adoption.
Dr. Weigle is managing partner of WeigleWilczek and in charge of the IT consulting services as well as the company's finance, human resources and marketing management. He is also driver of the Eclipse Training Alliance.
André Weinand is a senior developer with the IBM Rational Research Lab in Zurich, Switzerland since 1997. He is a team lead and component owner on IBM's Jazz project, the Eclipse based framework for collaborative software development. Before joining Jazz he played an active role in the Eclipse project since its inception, working on JFace, Compare, JDT UI, and the effort to bring Eclipse to Mac OS X. André has been an object-oriented developer, consultant, and architect for more than two decades, working on a wide variety of projects, large and small. Prior to joining IBM he was a member of Taligent's "People, Places, and Things" team. He is one of the principal designers and implementors of ET++, the first portable C++ application framework. André has a doctorate in computer science from the University of Zurich.
Todd is a co-founder of Genuitec and has served on the Eclipse Foundation board of directors for the past four years. He evangelizes Eclipse technology and provides thought leadership through numerous interviews, magazine articles and speaking engagements.
Andreas Winter is co-founder and technical director of in2solutions AG, a company dedicated to solution delivery in the financial services industry. He has more than 25 years of professional experience especially in software architecture and lifecycle management. His interests include open source software, rule based systems, software product lines and product definition systems.
Oliver Wolf
Oliver Wolf works for SOPERA GmbH, an open source SOA product company based out of Bonn, Germany. He is reponsible for the architecture of SOPERA's SOA runtime platform and leads the Eclipse Swordfish project. Prior to joining SOPERA, Oliver held positions in software architecture and IT security consulting.
David Wood is Executive Vice-President, Research at Symbian. He joined Psion as a software engineer in June 1988, and gradually moved into roles involving software architecture and system integration. He was an early adopter of object-oriented technology within Psion in the late 1980s and saw this come to fruition in popular handheld devices such as the Series 3 and Series 3a. From 1994 to 1997 he oversaw the development of the upper layers of the software system that eventually became known as Symbian OS. He was a founding director of Symbian on its formation in 1998. From 1998 to 2002 he headed Symbian's Technical Consulting department, building and directing teams that worked with Symbian's customers to create the world's first smartphones. From 2002 to 2004 he was EVP of Partnering at Symbian, creating partner programs to foster sustained commercial success for companies in the Symbian ecosystem. As EVP of Research, David is now responsible for understanding and guiding Symbian's response to disruptive trends in technology, business, and society. David has an MA in Mathematics from Cambridge University and an honorary doctorate in science from the University of Westminster.
Yves YANG
Yves YANG, Eclipse committer, has over 17 years of experience working with OO software development and mainly worked on Eclipse and ODBMS: GemStone, Matisse and Versant. He was the chief architect of EclipseUML and co-founder/CTO of Omondo from 2002 to early 2006. He is also the project leader of an Open source: EclipseJDO In Soyatec, he has developed two new products: eBPMN designer and eFace, and an Open source project for Microsoft Silverlight development in Eclipse: http://www.eclipse4sl.org. His activities focus on the EMF/UML/BPMN/BPDM modeling, GUI/XAML/VE development and OutSourcing in China.
